Our Mission

The mission of King Faisal School (KFS) is to develop young people through a rigorous national

and international programme of study. KFS students are encouraged to attain academic

excellence based on the foundation of Faith, Knowledge and Work, in order to help create a

sustainable, peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. KFS fosters respect

for Arab Islamic heritage while embracing an international perspective that is vital to meet the

demands of the 21st Century.

2. When was King Faisal School founded?

King Faisal School was launched in Riyadh in 1411 AH (1991 AD) as one of the programmes of

the King Faisal Foundation. Since its establishment, it has sought to provide quality education to

diverse groups within society and has become one of Saudi Arabia’s leading educational

institutions. It was distinguished as the first Saudi private school to adopt the International

Baccalaureate (IB) Programme in its curricula, in addition to the American Diploma Programme.

Many young Saudi leaders in the public, private, and non-profit sectors have graduated from King

Faisal School.

KFS is a project of KFF, a philanthropic foundation supporting education, research, and culture

King Faisal School (KFS) offers a unique blend of bilingual, international education, incorporating

both the International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes and the American Diploma, alongside key

KFS is an IB World School, authorized to offer the PYP, MYP, and DP programmes, and is also

accredited by Cognia, to offer the American Diploma for the DP students ensuring global

standards in education.

KFS is a bilingual institution where Arabic and English are the primary languages of instruction,

depending on the subject and grade level.

The school is divided into:

• Preschool.

1,000 in the Girls’ School.

universities, including those in the US, UK, and Canada. The school's International Baccalaureate

secured places at universities worldwide to study various fields like Engineering, Medicine, and

Business.

The application process is only possible online through OpenApply. It includes document

submission, potential testing or interviews, and fee payment.

 

11. What is the admissions process at King Faisal School?

The admissions process includes several steps:

• Application Submission: Prospective students must submit an enquiry through

OpenApply.

• Prospective students must submit an enquiry through OpenApply. After submission,

applications are automatically placed on the waiting list and remain there until a seat

becomes available. Admission is not confirmed until an opening is offered and approved

by the school.

• Formal Application: Shortlisted applicants are invited to complete the formal application,

providing necessary documents such as national ID, birth certificates, and family passports.

• Entrance Tests and Interviews: Depending on the grade level, students may need to

undergo interviews or admission tests.

• Application Review: School heads review applications to determine the best fit for each

student.

• Tuition Payment: Enrollment is finalized upon payment of all required fees, including at

least one semester's tuition.

• Orientation: New students and parents are introduced to the school's systems and

programmes.

 

12. What are the tuition fees at King Faisal School?

Tuition fees vary by grade level:

• Preschool: Approximately 45,000 SAR.

• Grades 1-5 and 6-9: Approximately 60,000 SAR.

• Grade 10: Approximately 62,500 SAR.

• Grades 11-12: Approximately 67,500 SAR. Non-Saudi families are subject to an additional

15% VAT.

13. Does King Faisal School offer scholarships?

Yes, KFS offers scholarships to its students in partnership with King Faisal Foundation. In addition

to the KFF Scholarship, students may also be interested in applying for the Ebrahim Balghunaim

scholarship. Details are announced via the school's official social media channels during the
