On Thursday, 24/12/2009, the IB CAS Programme Students went on an exploratory
and a pastime trip to Al-Thumamah, dividing themselves into three groups; the gricultture Group, the Boy Scouts Group, and the School Trips Group. The objective of the trip was to finish off the CAS course hours, and to bring their theoretical studies into practicality, which is all a preliminary step toward the final reports that qualify the Diploma students for taking the final exams.
The campers went from campus to the school’s permanent camp-site in Al-Thumamah by bus, where the students strolled and roamed about;looking for different types of rocks, meadow and plants which they collected, grouped and classified. Afterwards, data was recorded and observations were documented accordinglly.
Later, the Boy Scouts Group climbed the mountains enfolding the camp-site, and they
reached remote destinations to explore some caves and grottoes.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Mohammed Al-Khateeb, the school’s Director General, accompanied by a group of the school teachers and staff went on an «exclusive» entertainment trip at the same Al-Thumamah camp-site owned by the school.
